Enter your best bread loafs and jars of jam! Great cash prizes to be won!
It is free to enter bread and/or jam. Please email maggie@unscriptedfestival.com to register your entry by September 11th. Each participant gets a free ticket to the event. Participants can enter all categories, but only 1 entry per category per person. Participants can only win 1 category.
Bread and jam to be dropped off at The Twillingate performing Art Centre (The Gate) on Saturday, September 19th between 1130am-noon. Bread Brawl & JAM-Boree Contest Regulations
Categories
BREAD (limit 10 entries per category)
Best Traditional Bread (Traditional 3 bun white bread) PRIZE $500
Most Creative Bread (any other type of bread, ie, sweet, savoury, sour dough) PRIZE $300
- Bread entrees must include 2 loafs, one sliced, one whole.
- Bread must be completely cooled by drop off.
- Please label each loaf with name of baker, category (traditional or creative), and flavour/name if applicable.
- Bread will be judged on appearance, crust, crumb, aroma ,and taste. The creative category will also be rated on creativity. A score 0-5 will be recorded for each criteria. Highest points wins, ties will be re-judged.
- Participants can enter both categories, but only 1 entry per category per person.
- Participants can only win one category.
JAM (limit 10 entries per category)
Best Traditional Jam (any berry or fruit jam using only ONE type of berry or fruit) PRIZE $500
Best Creative Jam (all other jams/combos ie, strawberry/rhubarb) PRIZE $300
- Each jam entry must include 2 standard 8oz jars of (the same) jam. Clearly labeled with participant’s name, category (traditional or creative) and type of jam.
- You can enter both categories, but only 1 entry per person/per category. Participants can only win one category.
- Jams will be judged on appearance/colour, texture/consistency, and flavour. Creative category will also be rated on creativity. A score 0-5 will be recorded for each criteria. Highest points wins, ties will be re-judged.
Tickets $15 to sample all the bread and jam entries with tea/coffee. (All people entering contest get a free ticket to event)Entertainment by Grand Ol’ Shed Party.
