Biography

Greg Malone has been a comedian and political satirist since the early 70s
and is best known for the ground-breaking WGB and CODCO TV series for
which he has received many awards including ACTRA’s Award of
Excellence. Greg’s memoir, You Better Watch Out, and his political shocker
Don’t Tell the Newfoundlanders are both Canadian best sellers. Since 2012
Greg has returned to live theatre. Making Shakespeare understood has
become his passion and he has played lead roles in highly acclaimed and
wildly popular productions of the Bard with New World Theatre and
Perchance Theatre in Cupids. His most recent theatre shows include NAC’s
touring production of Tartuffe, The Laramie Project which he directed at
Grenfell Campus in Corner, Sorin in Chekhov’s The Seagull and Loomis in
four separate productions of Meg Coles’ ever popular NL classic Our Eliza.
He continues to perform in film and TV, appearing in the local productions
as the ghostly Surgeon on the new TV series Surrealtor and in Hudson and
Rex. Greg spoke in June 2022 at the Trinity United Church in Botwood on
Pride Day realizing a lifelong ambition to preach from a pulpit. Greg is
currently working on another book and a new stage show.
