Expression of Interest: Board Position

Grow Twillingate Inc. is looking for a dynamic and community-minded individual who:

• – is interested in the economic development of the Twillingate area;
• – works well on a team;
• – has an interest in arts, culture and heritage, as well as community development;
• – has a good understanding of financial management;
• – is willing to participate in fundraising;
• – has experience with board governance; and,
• – can participate in meetings in person or via conference call.

Who We Are:

Grow Twillingate is an incorporated not-for profit-organization, established in 2015. Its mission is the development and management of projects and events that contribute to the economic progress of Twillingate. Its focus is on projects related to arts, heritage and culture and its largest annual project is the Unscripted Festival in September. The organization is steered by a volunteer board of 5 to 7 directors. The organization is governed by its bylaws and directors’ insurance indemnifies board members.

Grow Twillingate Inc.’s core work has been the Unscripted Twillingate Digital Arts Festival, established in 2015. The festival has had eight successful seasons and preparation is ongoing for 2023. This year’s festival will take place from Thursday, September 21 to Sunday, September 24, 2023, inclusive.

Time Commitment:
– Attend monthly board meetings and participate in board committees.
– Attend and participate in fundraising and community events as needed.
– Time commitment will vary but is estimated to be approximately 5 – 8 hours monthly.
