About the Unscripted Twillingate Digital Arts Festival

The Unscripted Twillingate Digital Arts Festival has a vacant position for a Festival Manager.

The Unscripted Twillingate Digital Arts Festival is a season-extension event that has been taking place in the third week in September in Twillingate since 2015. It is a combination of digital arts workshops and entertainment and fun events that are highly “instagrammable”. Folks come together to be creative with digital capturing devices, learning, creating, sharing and celebrating digital creativity. The festival has something for everyone. The objective is to bring visitors to Twillingate an immerse them in the beauty of Twillingate in the fall while sharing creativity and meeting new friends. The Festival Manager is responsible for bringing together the elements of this festival and completing all follow up to wrap up the event successfully.


Management of all aspects of the Unscripted Twillingate Digital Arts Festival under direction of the Grow Twillingate Inc. Board of Directors; including but not limited to:

– Creating and submitting funding proposals as determined by the Board of Directors

– Working with the Board of Directors in soliciting and securing festival sponsorship

– Supporting the Board of Directors with hiring festival staff

– Oversee festival staff (and volunteers as needed)

– Oversee the setup, organization and maintaining of the festival office during the festival session

– Responsible for purchasing approved office equipment

– Monitoring the acquiring of office supplies and festival supplies

– Responding to festival communications as appropriate

–  Monitoring the filing and organizing of festival information, documents and databases

–  Accounting administration

 Responsible for monitoring all financial transactions and maintaining all related financial records (deposits, expenditures, petty cash, remittance, GST, WHSCC, etc.)

 Completing and submitting funding claims

–  Project and financial reporting to the Board and funders

–   Marketing management (managing development, production and distribution of all relevant festival promotional materials/ activities)

–  Website updates (managing development of content for posting)

–  Responsible for oversight of planning and execution of all festival events/activities:

 With the Board of Directors, develop and distribute call for festival presenter and speakers

 With the Board of Directors, review and determine appropriate festival presenter/ speakers and activities

 Drafting contracts for festival presenters, speakers. Etc.

 Approving accommodations for contracted festival presenters and speakers

 Approving venues for festival events

 Approving presenter/ speaker gifts and supplies for festival activities/ events as require

 Overseeing ticket/ merchandise purchases through Eventbrite and onsite at office or event venue

–  At the end of the festival season, oversee

 the compiling of a Festival Manual providing an overview of the festival planning/ coordination detail

 the dismantling of festival office including the documenting, organizing and storing of all festival equipment, supplies and documents

–  Other related duties as assigned by the Board of Directors


– Have experience and strong skills in event planning/ coordination
– Strong management and organizational skills
– Have strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral)
– Have supervisory experience
– Have basic accounting skills
– Be skilled in MS Office and email with some experience in social media platforms
– Have flexibility to work hours outside of regular office hours, especially during the festival week
– Have ability to work independently and as a lead in a team setting
– Possess a valid driver’s licence and have the use of a reliable vehicle
